The weather in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh is more or less similar to the weather you can expect of most of India: generally warm, with a tendency towards humidity in the summer months. This means that those who do not enjoy going about in very hot temperatures should avoid the summer months for their trip: summer in Hyderabad can see the mercury shooting above 40 degrees on the Celsius scale and above 104 on the Fahrenheit scale. Tourists who prefer cooler climes shall not be happy campers.
There is an alternative to cancelling your plans for Hyderabad altogether, though. The weather in Hyderabad can actually become quite mild and nicely cool around the later “-ber” months, especially around December and January. These are perhaps the best times to visit the city, as a matter of fact. You can get temperatures as low as 20°C/68°F around these times. Indeed, there have been recorded temperatures as low as 13°C/55.4°F during the Christmas season. The humidity also goes down around this time, which makes the city even nicer to visit during these months and avoids that muggy, damp feel that one can often get when going through the area at other times of the year.
You do not necessarily have to shoot for Christmas when you make your trip, though, especially as rates do tend to go up for both travel fare and lodgings during the season. At the very least, one more thing you may do is plan your trip for the months fringing the monsoon season—which, by the way, is best avoided. The rainiest Hyderabad climate is actually witnessed during the same months that have the highest temperatures too, making the city a sweltering, miasma-suffocated location that not all may appreciate. Humidity shall be high and generally unpleasant. The months when this happens are June, July, August, and September, with July and August being the worst months of all. Unless you are really willing to risk your own discomfort (or are simply impervious to extremes of humidity and temperature), best avoid booking your trip then.
Of course, the exchange for the potential discomfort is higher savings. Because fewer tourists tend to come in during this time, the hotels, inns, and travelling agencies tend to offer more sales and bargains for tourists, in order to try and attract more travellers into the city. Those who can take the heat or are simply going to be staying indoors for most of their trip into Hyderabad should thus consider checking the airlines for flight packages and promos at this time. You can also check with your local travel agency to see if there might be anything good being offered that fits your requirements.
Good months for a trip to Hyderabad, on the whole, are October, November, December, January, February, and March. The weather in Hyderabad in this time is superb for tourist activities, so try to time your visit for these dates. You should still go around the travel agencies and check for promotional sales at this time, just in case you discover something.
