The weather in Puerto Princesa is very much like the rest of the Philippine Archipelago. But what differentiates Puerto Princesa from major cities such as Manila, is that Puerto Princesa is covered with trees and forests that more than makes up for the hot weather.
The yearly average temperature in Puerto Princesa, Palawan is 27.4 °C or 81 °F. During the hottest months of April and May the temperature can get to as high as 33 °C or 91 °F. In the cooler months of January, February and March, the temperatures goes to its lowest at 21 °C or 70 °F.
When it’s not sunny and dry outside, it’s raining in Puerto Princesa. Similar to the rest of the Philippines, there are only two seasons in Palawan. The dry or summer season from December down to June. The cooler dry wind blowing through December to February and the wind turns into hot and dry from March to June. This very humid weather breaks in July as the wet or rainy season starts all the way to November.
The good thing about Puerto Princesa is its location. Being in the island province of Palawan, it is relatively safe from the onslaught of typhoons that regularly hit the rest of the Philippine islands.
When is the best time to visit? Definitely during the dry and cool months of December to February.
