Antonio’s is a prominent fine dining restaurant located in the cool city of Tagaytay. It is considered the high-end counterpart to the different Antonio’s restaurants found in Tagaytay such as Antonio’s Grill and Antonio’s All Day Breakfast. Although the two other restaurants offer delicious dishes as well, nothing beats the real one. Tucked discreetly into Tagaytay’s hidden slopes about 2 kilometers away from the main road, Antonio’s Restaurant is the perfect taste of luxury to leave your urban burdens away.
By the look of its big wooden gate and line of luxury cars parked outside, you’ll know the kind of crowd this restaurant caters to. Inside the restaurant, you’ll feel like you are entering a huge house located in a posh subdivision being surrounded by nature and a lovely antique collection that adds to its unique charm. Some claim that the ambiance is actually what you pay for, but some disagree with its amazing food selection that ultimately contributes to its overall appeal.
More than the outstanding garden ambiance, Antonio’s has a superb dining selection which remains its main draw. The restaurant’s chef and owner, Chef Antonio “Tony Boy” Escalante prepares gastronomic dishes by combining imported ingredients with the freshest produce while at times getting ingredients straight from their own organic garden. Among the favorite dishes served in the restaurant are the Duck Leg Confit on Mesclun Salad with Pan-seared Foie Gras, Steak Tartare, Grilled Angus Prime Rib Eye Steak and Dark Chocolate Soufflé with Cardamom Crème Anglaise. Although everything sounds complicated, a taste of these appetizing dishes with erase the complication away.
Antonio’s was placed as the 5th Top Restaurant in Asia in the list of Miele’s Guide in the 2010/2011 edition. Back in 2008, it landed at the 10th spot while in 2009 it landed on the 17th spot. Being consistently listed in the Miele Guide for the past three years speaks a ton about the restaurant already. It should also be duly noted that Antonio’s is the only Philippine entry in the famed guide that covered 450 restaurants in 17 different counties.
This one-hectare compound is a common venue for lavish wedding receptions done in Tagaytay City. To make the special event even more memorable, the couple can customize their menu and wine selection along with choosing appropriate table settings to match their wedding’s motif. Antonio’s even offers services to manage the event itself if the client wishes them to do so. At Antonio’s, not only is every dish prepared to perfection but dining services are done in precision as well.
Although many would die to have their wedding receptions at Antonio’s, it is unfortunately not for the budget-conscious. Antonio’s caters to clients willing to throw the ultimate and lavish wedding reception along with the presence of friends and family to celebrate their most joyous moment. Reservations are also required for every visitor because they are usually fully-booked. No amount of begging, pleading, crying or distance traveled to get there will get you to taste their mouth-watering food without a reservation.
With a combination of exception cuisine, an elegant yet intimate setting along with the always gracious service of its staff, Antonio’s Restaurant deserves nothing but all praises.
