You are reading it correctly; there are no missing letters to the name Wonder La. Once you visit this fun and famous theme park in Bangalore, you will also see that there are no missing excitements or thrills to this South Indian tourist attraction.
Bangalore is the capital of Karnataka State in South India and is notable for its many tourist attractions including Wonder La and other modern theme parks, natural parks and natural reserves. In a warm and humid country as India, a theme park with water rides and pools offer a pleasant and refreshing break.
Located only about 20-30 kilometers from the state capital, this unique amusement park is an ideal family getaway for the weekend. It is definitely a hit among children, families and friends who are out for a good time. The park offers a variety of rides that may be classified into two: the dry rides and wet rides.
The wet rides, of course, are the ones that involve water, plenty of it. These include the Lazy River Ride, Uphill Racers, Twisters, Hara-kiri, Wave Pools, Water Pendulum, and so on. Although waterproof jackets may be available at the rides, it is good to bring along your own, since you know what you’re up against in the first place. One of the newest wet rides is the Fun Racers, where riders lie flat on a rubber mat as they slither down the water slides. It is impossible not to get wet here. There is also a Musical Fountain somewhere near the wet rides.
The dry rides, as expected are very scary and not for the faint of heart. These include the Drop Zone, Termite Train, Sky Wheel, Y-Scream, Insanity, and Techno Jump, to name a few. By their names alone, you know you will be screaming along the way. One of the most popular dry rides is the Wonder La Bamba. You get to board on the giant 18-seater Wonder La mascot that will take you to a scary and exhilarating dance of abrupt drops, turns, twists and accelerations. It is absolutely thrilling and perfectly safe. Children below 12 years old are not allowed in these scary rides, but instead, kiddie rides are made available for them.
Kiddie rides include the Moon Water, Convoy, Funky Monkey, Mini Express, Mini Pirate Ship, and Moon Walker, which is a wavy slide where children can safely slither down.
As though the overly joyful experiences of guests are not enough to prove the success of this theme park, several awards and citations have been given to honor Wonder La. The Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries (IAAPI) gave four awards for the parks manufacturer and operator. IAAPI is the only organization in India that looks over the country’s amusement industry. Wonder La is also often cited for maintaining a clean and environment-friendly park. There are over 2,000 trees inside the park to provide natural shades to guests.
Located on 28-km Mysore Road, Wonder La is open every day, even on holidays, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and as late as 7:00 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays, and during festival seasons.
