Located four kilometers north of the city center, just behind the age-old Ponagar Cham Towers, the Thap Ba Hot Springs and Mud Baths is an extremely attractive destination for people who want to experience more than the white sand beaches of Nha Trang Bay. Indeed, nature has blessed this place with a salty mineral-rich spring coming from 100-meter underground water. The spring is rich in natri clorua silica and various other natural minerals, which are not only hygienic but are also great for a bather’s health.
The centre offers visitors diverse spa services and rejuvenating treatments such as flower and medicinal herb, mud baths at the VIP spa, swimming pool with warm mineral water, Tien Sa mud bath and various therapeutic massages. According to research, soaking in hot mineral water or in mineral mud does not only promote relaxation but is also very effective in the treatment of a variety of diseases such as insomnia, sciatica, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and other skin diseases. Mineral mud is even considered a great beauty aid since it can stimulate skin regeneration, remove dead skin cells and bring refreshment to the entire body. Before immersing in the mud bath, the guests are advised to bathe in warm mineral water. The mineral water may reach as hot as 40 degrees Celsius before it is splashed onto guests. After bathing, guests will dip into wooden tubs and soak in the mud. After dipping, the guests will take a long sunbath to bake the mud to crusty shell. When the mud dries on the skin, the bathers will head back to the mineral water for cleansing.
When observing the surroundings of Thap Ba Hot Springs and Mud Baths, visitors will take pleasure in the dramatic scenery with rivers, mountains and the thick forest of sandalwood trees, not to mention the fruit trees, grasses and flowers that remain green the entire year. The Thap Ba Hot Springs and Mud Baths Centre is run by Sao Mai 21st Century Ltd. The centre has 25 hot springs and 12 mud baths that have individual names, apparently to give them a personalized touch. There are heart-shaped pools for couples, distinct pools for the elderly, and swimming pool for kids and adults.
