Lotte Department Store Busan is an affiliate of the Lotte Enterprise and is still one of the pioneering department stores in Korea. The first Lotte Store in Busan is situated at Seomyeon Station, where a whole lot of shops, cinemas, hotels and department stores are clustered across the area.
With 20 years of history as a shopping area, Seomyeon district is considered one of the best destinations to shop in Busan. Currently, there are four branches of the Lotte Department Store across the metropolitan city of Busan, namely the Centum City Store in Haeundae-gu, the Gwangbok Store in Jung-gu, the Dongnae Store in Dongnae-gu and the Main Store in Busanjin-gu. The Lotte Busan Store opened the doors for Busan locals to experience modern department store culture with various forms of entertainment, shopping and leisure opportunities that everyone can enjoy.
The Busan Main Store located on the lively streets of Seomyeon forms a major shopping and entertainment district known as Lotte Town. Close to the department store are different entertainment opportunities such as Lotte Cinema, the Lotte Hotel, a wide array of luxury local and international clothing brands and a broad range of fancy restaurants and cafes. The main store consists of 10 levels with three underground floors.
The department store mainly sells clothing but also includes other stuff such as jewelry, home appliances, cosmetics, furniture, shoes, etc. There are over 600 retail stores in this mall. Overall, Lotte Department Store Busan possesses a special expertise in making a unique shopping experience with elegant interiors, sophisticated store designs and excellent product marketing. Another Lotte Busan Store is located right next to Shinsegae Centum City.
The wide stage found in front of the main entrance hall often holds various events, creating an ideal place for family travelers. While frequented by families, the department store keeps a classy feel and displays sophisticated brands from different parts of the world. It offers a broad array of fashionable clothes and accessories that are popular with today’s fashion-forward crowd. In Lotte Busan Gwangbok Branch, visitors can enjoy the Lotte Aquatique Show, which was recently certified by the Guiness World Record as the world’s biggest indoor fountain music show, which was granted this designation in December 29, 2010.
The fountain shoots water over 18 meters high based on official measurements. For the record, it is much higher than that fountain found in Caesars Atlantic City in the US that only sprays water at 15 meters. Launched on August 2010, the Aquatique Show attracted more than half million viewers three weeks after its debut. Indeed, it becomes an instant Busan attraction with over 20,000 audiences per day. The splendid show consists of bright lights, crisp sounds and brilliant water displays. Some of the songs played in the show include ‘Come Back to Busan Port’, ‘Busan Seagull’ and other Korean pop music hits from groups such as Wonder Girls and Girl’s Generation.
Indeed, visiting Lotte Department Store Busan provides a wonderful and fun-filled experience, not only for extreme shoppers but also for those wanting to see the true modern shopping culture. The Lotte Aquatique Show is also another attraction one should not miss when coming to Busan.
