Atayal Resort in Jen-ai Township gives great importance in the preservation of aboriginal culture. Inside the resort are the Atayal European Style Garden, Atayal Palace, hot and cold springs, aboriginal houses and an aboriginal museum that showcases sculptures, historical finds and tools, clothing and several items that represent traditional Atayal lifestyle.
The romantic European Garden mesmerizes visitors with a clock tower, fountain, staircase waterfall and garden. Within the garden are sculptures, music playing and traditional dances. On the other hand, the Atayal Palace is an old European structure that follows Baroque-style architecture. It has royal VIP suites with hot springs, presidential suites, royal hot spring suites, and cabins. An important feature of this accommodation is the pure and clean drinking water coming from a natural underground water source from 300-meters below. Also inside the resort are exact replicas of aboriginal Wandashe, Balashe and Atayal houses.
Finally, after visitors have enjoyed a one-of-kind stroll and sightseeing experience, they are treated in the resort’s widely popular hot and cold springs from the Hohuan Mountains. While there are several hot springs in Nantou and around Taiwan, there are not many cold springs. Atayal Resort is on Tsing Fung Road in Hu Chu Village, Jen-ai Township. The resort is not difficult to find. From the Taichung train station, it is only two bus rides: from the train station to Caotun, Nantou, and from Caotun directly to Atayal Resort. By car, the route is: Freeway 1-Changhua System Interchange-Freeway 3-Wufeng System Interchange-Freeway 6 -Puli Interchange Exit-Provincial Highway 21-Tou-80 Township Road-Qingfong (Qingfeng) Road. The resort is open from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with available 24-hour cabin accommodations.
