1. Go Kiteboarding. Kiteboarding and other water sports in Hua Hin/Cha-Am are very popular. Kiteboarding in particular, although still a young water sport, is fast becoming a favorite in Hua Hin. It combines windsurfing and wake boarding and is easy to learn especially with the consistent wind in Hua Hin beach. There are many kiteboarding schools in Hua Hin offering beginner to advanced lessons. The best months to go kiteboarding (also called kite surfing) are from December to April when the thermal wind is present.
2.Go Fishing. If fishing makes you crazy, come down to Hua Hin and Cha-Am where you’ll find several fishing resorts with beautiful fishing lakes filled with some of the world’s best freshwater species of fish like the near-legendary Mekong Catfish, Arapaima, Amazon Redtail Catfish, Giant Siamese Carp, Barramundi and many others.
3.Go Snorkeling. Snorkeling is just one of the many water sports you can try in Hua Hin and Cha-Am. The shallow waters of several offshore islands found around Hua Hin and Cha-Am districts make it ideal for snorkeling. Be treated to a beautiful sight of many species of water creatures living in the Gulf of Thailand.
4.Go Diving. Diving is also quite popular in Hua Hin and Cha-Am. You can find several shops around the beach offering diving activity. Diving gear already comes with the fee.
5.Go Swimming. The quiet beaches of Hua Hin and Cha-Am offer great swimming opportunities. The beaches are not crowded at all, making it ideal for swimming for adults and children alike.
6.Go Eco-cruising. Eco-cruising boat tours and charters are very popular in Hua Hin and Cha-Am. The riders will have a chance to see beautiful sceneries and seascapes around the province. Aboard the eco-friendly boats, you’ll also have a chance to observe local flora and fauna. Half-day tours and whole day tours are both available, and most tour companies can arrange one for you.
7.Go Jet Skiing. Jet Skiing is as popular in Hua Hin and Cha-Am as banana boat rides and water skiing are. It’s perfect for those looking for some adrenaline rush, and you’ll find the major hotels renting out jet ski scooters. It is also possible to learn jet skiing at Hua Hin and Cha-Am as they have many qualified and skilled instructors.
8.Go Kayaking. Not so popular among the vacationers but nonetheless worth trying when you’re in the area. Several beachfront hotels offer kayaks that you can rent and take out to sea. In Chumphon, there is a kayak club and tour operator offering kayak tours. If you’re set on doing it your way, head South and you’ll find several beaches that are quieter and you can explore by kayak.
9.Go Water Skiing. It’s easy and it’s famous. Hua Hin and Cha-Am also play host to water ski activities. It is particularly famous in Cha-Am beach.
10.Go Windsurfing. When there’s a good breeze, you’re sure to find surfers in the beach. However, windsurfing is relatively difficult to do in a beach where there’s rarely a surf to tackle. There are several good options though, like kite surfing. Kitesurfing or kiteboarding and other water sports in Hua Hin/Cha-Am will definitely make your vacation days in the province very memorable.
