Set against the background of the stunning Aravalli Hill on one side, and the lofty castles on the other, the Lake Palace Hotel spreads out across the four-acre Jag Niwas Island- an almost surreal sight in marble. It was built by Maharana Jagat Singh II, the 62nd successor of the Mewar Dynasty, reckoned as the descendants of the Sun God. The palace used to be a pleasure haven for the royal family during summer and has now transformed into a luxurious heritage hotel.
The Udaipur Lake Palace is considered as one of the most romantic sites in the world, located in the middle of the scenic Lake Pichola that offers a dreamlike view to the onlooker.
