Manila is a romantic city. Its many monuments and Baroque-style cathedrals as well as the promenade along Manila Bay suggest romance in the air. The loveliest sunsets are seen over Manila Bay and what lovelier dining experience than to have it on board Manila Bay Dinner Cruise?
After touring the busy streets of metro Manila under humid climate conditions, take the Manila Bay Dinner Cruise on board a dinner yacht and enjoy the natural beauty of Manila Bay. Some consider it the most picturesque bay in all of Southeast Asia. The cruise begins at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Complex along Roxas Avenue, near Manila Yacht Club. The CCP is hard to miss. Its ramp entrance and fountain are familiar to almost every metro Manila resident.
The Sun Cruise M/V Spirit of Manila ship is docked near the Folk Arts Theater inside the CCP Complex. A number of people regularly take the cruise so you will see a queue forming as soon as you arrive. If you wish to have a more intimate experience, however, there are other yet more expensive tours available on board private yachts.
From the CCP Complex, the cruise kicks off to one of the most romantic cruises available in Manila. You will not get enough of the Manila Bay skyline and the lights of Roxas Boulevard at nights seen from a distance. Live music entertains you as you enjoy good food and perfect scenery.
International artists serenade you with acoustic music as you dine. And as far as the dining is concerned, since this a floating restaurant, you may expect a variety of good food choices on board.
There are three types of cruises to choose from.
The Sunset Cruise kicks off just in time to catch Manila Bay’s world-famous sunsets. Be sure to be at CCP before 5:30 PM, armed with a camera. This is the most popular schedule because many are scurrying to catch the sight of encroaching dusk. Also, many foreign tourists prefer to have early dinners so that they can hit the bars and down some drinks after a few hours.
The Mid-Evening Cruise happens at from 7:00 to 8:00 PM, while the Night Cruise, perhaps the most romantic of the three schedules, promises a calm ride under the blanket of stars. There’s something special in knowing that as the city begins to sleep, you are left by yourself and with the person you love.
The times of departure for all three tours depend on the weather and sea conditions during your visit. In most cases, you might want to check the availability and schedule of tours from your hotel room before heading to CCP. Philippine weather can be very erratic and unpredictable. Generally, however, the best months of the year to take the cruise are from October to February.
The Manila Bay Dinner Cruise is available every day for couples or the entire family. Little children are free of charge. On board the cheaper cruises, admission fee is Php550 per person and includes a friendly English-speaking tour guide, live music, dinner, and an unforgettable experience on Manila Bay. Drinks are not included. You may arrange to be picked up from your hotel an hour before the departure time.
