Situated in the north of Pichola Lake, Fateh Sagar Lake is the second artificially created lake in Udaipur originally built by Maharana Jai Singh in 1678. The water reservoir was later reconstructed by Maharana Fateh Singh after much devastation caused by heavy rains. In 1995, the water gradually vanished from the lake, but in 2006, the lake eventually regained its water.
Lying just beside the entrance of Moti Magri Hill, the lake extends 2.4 kilometers in length, 1.6 kilometers in width, and 11.5 meters in depth. During monsoon season, this lake covers an area of about one square kilometer. Today, the lake serves as the second principal [Read more…]
