The Agrioz Tourism Factory is the first tourist factory in Taiwan of preserved fruits. The factory is more than 30 years old and has insisted on developing and pursuing fruit preservation not only to maintain the flavor of Taiwan fruits but to entice the taste buds of their customers as well.
This 9,915 square meter factory produces the finest kumquat products in all of Taiwan. The factory makes it a point to collect kumquats from local farmers in order to provide only great quality products to its consumers. Kumquats or also known as kinkan, are fruits that are created by small green trees that grow to about 10 feet. Kumquat trees are best known for their sweet and edible fruits that take the form of small oranges. These fruits are extremely succulent and tasty with a sweet outer skin and an even sweeter inner flesh.
The brainchild of the tourist factory and the chief of Agrioz is none other than Lin Qi-man along with his wife Hong Mei-Fang. Together, they created the Agrioz Preserved Fruits Image Store with the aim of promoting the kumquat industry and culture. The Agrioz Preserved Fruits Factory boasts of the absence of chemicals and preservatives in their fruits in order to genuinely reflect the natural aroma of the product they solely cater to. It is only by visiting the factory that a person will be able to appreciate the dedication of the factory of Agrioz to their fruits.
When the tourism factory was certified with quality food certification, the factory decided to open its production process for the whole world to see. The entire production facility is transparent, allowing visitors to appreciate the processes by which these delectable items are created.
The Agrioz iced brew is known to be one of the factory’s specialty products and is basically a crystal jujube type of dessert. These specialty items are exclusively produced using Agrioz’s production technology in order to attain the translucent exterior. Many have claimed that biting into this delectable dessert will make you taste its sweetness and aroma bursting into your mouth. With a combination of the right qualities in color, aroma and taste, it’s not surprising that Agrioz iced brews is a premium dessert in Taiwan.
Aside from an open production plant, the Agrioz Tourism factory also holds events that teach visitors how to preserve fruits themselves at home. During jujube production season, the factory teaches do-it-yourself preserved jujube, jujube gluttonous rice cakes and do-it-yourself jujube cocktails. There is also a kumquat museum and souvenir shop where visitors can look around and appreciate the fruits more and to bring home goodies to take home as well.
The tourism factory is open every day from 8 in the morning until 6 in the evening ready to cater to all kinds of visitors of the city. It is located right in the heart of Yilan City along Meizhou 2nd Road where entrance is free. The Agrioz Tourism Factory not only provides great treats for the sweet tooth but it also allows visitors to appreciate the sweetness and health benefits of preserved fruits.
