The country of Fiji is an archipelago consisting of more than 300 islands that are grouped into nine island groups. Lomaiviti Islands is the central group of islands between Viti Levu (the largest and most important island) and Lau group of islands. Mainly composed of nine volcanic islands, the biggest islands in Lomaiviti are Ovalau, Koro and Gau, and the most notable is the Wakaya island-resort, which is so beautiful only the rich and famous can afford to vacation here. A tiny lizard-shaped island called Namenalala is very near the Vanau Levu Group but it is still an island in Lomaiviti.
