Started in 2000, the Eilat Classical Music Festival continues its musical tradition each year by improving its quality, performers and contents. This music event holds concerts performed by world-renowned international choirs and bands that fly to Eilat, Israel especially for this event.
Established by Maestro Valery Gergiev, a world-famous conductor, this event usually takes place every first week of January. He and his ensemble consistently return to sunny Eilat every year for a refreshing change (since they spend most of their time in the snowy Petersburg). The music event features five concerts, taking place in Eilat Port and the rest on Chamber music concerts.
In the eyes of the many, Maestro Valery Gergiev is the greatest conductor working and even dubbed as a real phenomenon in Israel. He is the founder of the Eilat Classical Music Festival, more than 10 years ago and the administrator of the choir and orchestra Mariinsky Opera.

Every year, the Eilat Classical Music Festival is held at the Port of Eilat. Some concerts take place in a specially built stage in the port, while chamber music concerts often take place at the theater in Isrotel Royal Garden Hotel. World-famous artists showcase their talent at the music event and this include Maestro Valery Gergiev who is conducting nearly 300 musicians and soloists from the Mariinsky Opera House orchestra, Mariinsky Choir and the Children’s Choice of the Mariinsky Opera Company of St. Petersburg, Russia.
