The Republic of Maldives is one of the most popular paradise vacation spots in the world, if not the most popular. More and more European tourists are visiting the place for its many magnificent dive spots, and as a result, its capital city of Male is become more crowded by the year. Only a few years ago, Male was a quiet, sleepy city with perpetual white walls and mosques. Today, however, it is bustling with activities, new facilities are being built, and the streets crowded both with locals and tourists. A third of the total population resides in the capital city.
