Nantou County is located in the center of Taiwan and is known as the only Taiwanese county without a coastline. This means it is unlike its neighboring counties for not having a beach. In 1986, a huge chunk of the county – a total of 62 hectares in Yuchi – was converted into the Formosa Aboriginal Culture Village. This aboriginal village is so unique since it combines tourism, culture, education by preserving and promoting the aboriginal cultures in Taiwan.
