Seoul is the beautiful capital of South Korea, a bustling metropolis with a population of 10.5 million people. It is the heart of South Korea’s economy, traditional culture and tourism, among many others. Surprisingly, touring Seoul is relatively cheaper than its “rival” cities – Tokyo, Shanghai and Taipei; it is modern, safe and very cultural for its amazing palaces, great food and exhilarating nightlife. Getting around Seoul is certainly a blast.
To see and experience Seoul, the best way is by subway. Seoul has a robust and complex city subway system, but it is still the preferred form of transport since getting used to it is easier and less of a hassle than getting stuck in the afternoon traffic jams, which are all too common. Seoul subway consists of nine numbered and colored lines. Fortunately for Western tourists, all subway and city signs are in Korean and English, unlike in Tokyo where everything is in Japanese.
